Are there any 420-friendly dating sites?
Yes. Your options fall into three groups: mainstream apps where you mention cannabis in your bio, international cannabis dating apps, and sites built for a particular country. Each has trade-offs. We have stuck to what each service states on its own site or app store listing, and we say plainly when something could not be confirmed.

What we compare, and why
Each comparison looks at the same handful of things, because they're what matter most when you're choosing where to date:
- Who's there. Everyone, or only people comfortable with cannabis? One country or many?
- How cannabis shows up. A line in a bio, a set of interests, or the whole premise of the service?
- How you find people. Swiping, daily suggestions, or search by city and distance?
- Verification and safety. What each service describes for checking identities, and how reporting works.
- Prices and currency. What we could confirm, in which currency, and whether plans renew.
- Language and local rules. Whether there's French, and whether advice reflects Canadian provincial law.
We don't score or rank services. A table can't tell you which one you'll enjoy, and a score would hide the trade-offs that matter.
Why some services aren't here
Plenty of cannabis dating apps have come and gone over the years, and roundup articles online often list names that no longer work or redirect somewhere unrelated. We only include a service when its official website or store page is reachable and shows what it offers. When we couldn't confirm that a service still offers dating, we left it out rather than guess. If a service you use is missing and you'd like to see it compared, let our support team know.
Mainstream apps with a cannabis line
General apps such as Tinder, Hinge or Bumble are open to everyone, and plenty of people simply write "420 friendly" in a bio and carry on. That works best in big cities, where the pool is large enough to find people who share your view. The downside is that cannabis comes up late, sometimes after a few dates, and a mismatch then feels like wasted time. A dedicated site moves that conversation to the very start.
If cannabis is medical for you
Some people use cannabis under a doctor's guidance for pain, sleep or another condition. On a general app, explaining that can feel like a lot for a first message. On a cannabis-friendly site, you can pick the Medicinal Use interest and leave the details for when you're ready. Whatever service you choose, you never owe anyone your medical history, and a match who pushes for it isn't respecting you.
Trying a service before you pay
On our site, a Classic membership lets you set up a profile and look around before choosing a paid plan; check what other services allow. Use that time well. Write your bio, read a dozen profiles, and see whether the people you find there are the kind you'd like to meet. If they are, a short plan is a low-risk way to find out more.
The comparisons
- 420 Dating Canada vs Tinder. What "420 friendly" means on Tinder, and whether you can filter for it.
- 420 Dating Canada vs Blazr. The app that calls itself "420 Singles and Friends," compared with a Canada-only site.
- 420 Dating Canada vs Stoner Singles. Two cannabis-friendly sites, one Canadian and one international.
How to choose
If you want the widest pool of people and don't mind sorting through bios, a mainstream app may suit you. If you want cannabis to be a settled question from the start, a dedicated site saves time. If you want Canadian prices, Canadian rules and local guides, that's what we built 420 Dating Canada for.
Red flags on any platform
Whatever you choose, some warning signs are universal:
- A profile that pushes you to another messaging app within the first few messages.
- Requests for money, gift cards or cryptocurrency, however sympathetic the story.
- Someone who offers to arrange cannabis for you. A dating space isn't a marketplace.
- A refusal to do a short video call before meeting.
- Pressure to consume, or mockery when you say no.
Block and report, and don't feel you owe anyone an explanation.
Price and renewal, in plain terms
Our own prices are listed in CAD, beginning with seven days of VIP for C$19.99, with the full table on the pricing page. Anything shorter than a year rolls over automatically until you turn it off, and the year-long options don't renew. Rival prices are shown in different currencies or set by app stores, so we list only what we could confirm and suggest checking the final price on each service.
A note on our own bias
We run 420 Dating Canada, so we're not neutral. We've tried to be fair by quoting each rival's own description and saying where we couldn't confirm something. If you spot an error, or a service has changed, tell our support team and we'll check and correct it.
Keeping up to date
Apps add and drop features often. A cannabis tag on a mainstream app, a new verification method on a niche one, or a change in pricing can all shift the picture. We revisit these pages periodically and note what we checked.
Questions people ask before choosing
Will I find people near me? On any service, that depends on where you live. On our site, VIP search by city and distance helps you widen the net if you're in a smaller town.
Is a dedicated site safer? Not automatically. Look at the verification and moderation each one describes, and use the same common sense everywhere.
Can I use more than one? Of course. Keep your photos current and your story consistent.
What we'd tell a friend
Try a dedicated site if cannabis mismatches keep tripping you up. Stay on a general app if you're happy with how it's going. And whichever you pick, verify, meet in public and trust your instincts.
A few terms used on these pages
Per its listing means the detail comes from the rival's own app store page. Per its site means it comes from the rival's own website. Not checked means we couldn't confirm it on the day we wrote, so we've left it out rather than guess. Prices for our plans come directly from our own checkout figures in Canadian dollars.
